1. The Federal Government has barred unvaccinated civil servants from work, with effect from December 1, 2021. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, announced this at the national briefing of the committee in Abuja on Wednesday.

2. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Water Board has announced that it will halt supply in some areas from Monday. In a statement, the board announced that the suspension, which will last for five days will take effect from Monday.

3. The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nkem Okeke has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. Dr. Okeke who first served as Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning, was welcomed into the party by President Muhammadu Buhari, during a meeting on Wednesday, in Abuja.

4. The Senate on Wednesday summoned the accounting officers of seven federal ministries, departments and agencies over their failure to defend their input in the N5.01trn loans proposed to fund the 2022 budget deficits. President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, decried the non appearance of the affected MDAs before the Senate Committee on Loan and Foreign Debts.

5. Gunmen wreaked havoc in Umuahia on Wednesday with the kidnap of two persons; a Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Godfrey Chimezie, of St. Theresa Parish, Umuahia, and a lady. Eyewitness account said the priest was returning to his parish after attending morning Mass at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Okpururie Afaraukwu, when the bandits swooped on him.

6. The Police have arrested two masquerades who allegedly robbed residents of Melege community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The masqueraders identified as Sheriff Ojo and Muhammed Lukman were arrested after they allegedly robbed one Adinoyi Mohammed of N370,000 and his mobile handset.

7. The Senate, on Wednesday, passed the 2022 Appropriation Bill for second reading after over one hour of debate on its general principles. Many of the senators, who contributed to the debate, expressed concerns over the increasing fiscal deficit and the government’s penchant for borrowing to fund capital projects.

8. Gunmen, numbering about fifty, invaded the Nasarawa State Local Government Civil Service Commission and took away one AK 47 riffle from personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps who were deployed to safeguard the commission. The armed men overpowered the security personnel on duty post at the commission’s office located along Makurdi road, Lafia.

9. Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to provide funds for private business people to set up ranches in the state. Obaseki, while fielding questions from State House reporters, said Edo was yet to pass the anti-open grazing law as agreed and acted upon by many southern states because it wanted to be sure it could enforce the law.

10. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has hinted at the possibility of reaching out to the secessionists for talks in order to find solutions to the insecurity in his state. The governor gave the hint after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.
