A report in the English media on Sunday has linked Arsenal with Sevilla defender, Diego Carlos.
Carlos, 27, only joined Sevilla last summer from French outfit, Nantes.
Sevilla are understood to have paid somewhere in the region of £13.5m for the stopper, which looks to be quite the bargain.
The Brazilian featured in 35 of the Spanish outfit’s 38 La Liga outings throughout 2019/20, scoring two along the way.
It’s also worth noting that Sevilla, with Carlos, of course, a key figure, managed to garner the third-best defensive record in the Spanish top-flight last term, with only champions Real Madrid and the always defensively sound Atletico Madrid conceding fewer goals.

Arsenal linked with Diego Carlos
Such impressive displays on the part of Carlos have seemingly begun to attract interest from some top sides.
We covered a report from the Transfer Window Podcast earlier this month which claimed Carlos was one of the centre-backs being looked at by Manchester City.
And now it seems another Premier League outfit, Arsenal, are also eyeing the Sevilla man.
According to the Telegraph, Arsenal are interested in signing Carlos as they look to overhaul their squad.

Can Arsenal afford Carlos?
However, Arsenal fans probably shouldn’t get their hopes up too much when it comes to landing Carlos.
It’s been quite clear for a while now that Arsenal have been hit pretty badly by the Covid-19 crisis, suggesting they will not be splashing huge sums on players.
So, when it comes to Carlos, will the Gunners actually be able to afford him?
The aforementioned report from the Transfer Window podcast did give a specific fee but it didn’t suggest Sevilla are in a better position to negotiate after securing Champions League football.
And Sunday’s report from the Telegraph has now claimed that the defender has a release clause of £68m.
It is added that a Sevilla may accept less than that for Carlos, but not much less with a sum of around £54m touted. And even the report from the Telegraph suggests such a fee may be too much for the Gunners.
It’s also worth noting Carlos is currently contracted to Sevilla until 2024, suggesting the Spanish side aren’t exactly in a rush to sell him.
