Newcastle’s Joe Willock is being assessed ahead of the Magpies’ meeting with Leeds later this week, according to reports.

Newcastle vs Leeds

Newcastle have got their 2021/22 campaign off to an absolute nightmare start.

The Magpies are yet to pick up a single win in the Premier League this term and were also knocked out of the League Cup in round two vs Burnley.

In the PL, Newcastle have yet to pick up a single win in their first four outings of the season, with their only point coming in a draw with Southampton.

Their previous outing, meanwhile, saw them dominated by Manchester United and handed a 4-1 loss.

The North East outfit must now face off with Leeds United on Friday evening this week.

The Peacocks have had a fairly underwhelming start to their season as well, though they have already had to face Liverpool and Man United.

Willocks being assessed

Ahead of Friday’s game, Newcastle are having some personnel issues.

Firstly, Callum Wilson, who picked up a thigh injury vs Southampton last month, was ruled out of the United game.

It was then reported by The Athletic that Newcastle face the prospect of being without Wilson until after the October international break.

And now, as mentioned above, it appears Steve Bruce and co. are dealing with more potential injury issues.

Firstly, following the Man United loss, Bruce confirmed that Joe Willock, Ciaran Clark and Javier Manquillo all had knocks:

“We have a disappointed dressing room with a few knocks. Joe Willock, Ciaran Clark and Javier Manquillo.”
